Robert "Bob" Wade Borders
May 11, 1959 - October 24, 2025
Bob Borders, resident of Denton Texas, after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), passed away at his home surrounded by family on Friday, October 24, 2025. He was born in El Paso, Texas on May 11, 1959, to Virgil and Martha Borders. Bob was the oldest of 4 siblings.
After graduating High School, Bob joined the Air Force in 1976 and was an HVAC mechanic and equipment maintenance technician until his discharge in 1980. Following his discharge, he met and married his first wife, Lori Ellen Blackwell, in 1981 and they had their daughter, Andrea Christine in March of 1983. Following his divorce, Bob met and married the love of his life, Diana Gayle Tenney in October of 1986. They lived in Orange County and had two daughters, Amanda Rachelle in 1989 and Briana Renee in 1991. In 1994, Bob and Diana moved to Texas, living in Houston (2001), Kerrville (2010), Boerne (2011) and then Denton (2017 to present). Bob initially worked as a salesman for commercial and Industrial contracts but then became a very successful and award-winning Realtor in 2001 until his illness (PSP) forced him to retire in 2019.
Bob was known for his ability to share his faith and encourage others in their faith as well. Many have also said that it was his strong faith in Jesus Christ that influenced them to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. As his disease progressed, he enjoyed watching episodes of the Chosen - over and over again. He was a huge Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan and enjoyed watching games until his final days. He also loved watching old westerns, especially ones with John Wayne in them. He is fondly remembered for his silly jokes and comments. Bob was very much a "people" person and is loved and will be missed by many.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Diana of 39 years and his three daughters, Andrea, Amanda and Briana (husband Anthony), their six grandchildren, and his one surviving brother, Dennis Borders.
