Rodney Cliff Hollaway, 71, of Denton TX, peacefully left for Heaven after fighting cancer bravely for 2 years, on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to William and Lucille Hollaway on April 25, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Rodney married the love of his life, Lynn Morris, on October 11, 1969 in Fort Worth, Texas, and enjoyed 48 years of the most blessed life together, raising their family with so much love and care.
Rodney was born in Wichita Falls, TX, but spent most of his childhood growing up in Denton, TX. He loved his wife Lynn, more than life itself, and loved his sons just as much. He worked incredibly hard to provide his family with the best that he was capable of, and never wavered in his support for his wife, sons, and grandchildren. He loved to go camping at every opportunity he could get, and spent many hours playing dominoes with his best friends, Jimmy and Carolyn Matthews, who were like family to him. He loved watching Rangers baseball games, and loved teaching his sons how not only to play baseball, but how to become great men as well. Later in life, it was Rodney's ultimate pride and joy to spend as much time as he could, and spoil as often as he could, all of his grandchildren: Madison, Gracie, Brendan, Lauren, Karissa, Ava, and Gavin.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Lynn Hollaway, sons, Todd Hollaway, Keith Hollaway, Lance Hollaway (wife Jamie), adopted son Darren Heizer, and younger brother Terry Hollaway, and his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his older brother, Ronnie Hollaway.
Visitation for Rodney is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors, in Denton, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday November 2, 2017 at Hope Community Church of the Nazarene, in Denton, TX, with interment following at Cooper Creek Cemetery, also in Denton, TX.
