Obituary

Roger Clifton Frederick, 69, of Denton, Texas went to be with the lord on March 22, 2014.

Roger was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on January 12, 1945.  He was adopted and raised by Delamr and Sarah Frederick. Roger attended public schools in Oklahoma. Roger served in The United States Marine Corps and a Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Roger married Margaret Jo Myatt on June 18, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK. Roger spent his entire career in the floor-covering industry serving in many wholesale and manufacturing sales management roles before Margy and he opened their own retail business in Denton, Texas in 1987, Action Carpets. That company is now a second generation owned business, My Flooring America that has grown into one of the largest specialty retail flooring companies in the nation.

In addition to supporting many organizations over the years, Roger served on the Lake Dallas School Board, a deacon at Lake Shore Baptist Church and on the board of directors of Think Twice Ministries.

Roger is survived by his wife, Margy Frederick, two sons; Timothy Frederick and wife Kellye of Denton, Texas and Kelby Frederick and wife Kristi of Corinth, Texas; his sister, Kay Hargis of Montana, brother Jerry Frederick of Arizona and four grandchildren; Rylie, Cooper, Kenlie and Marline Frederick. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grand-daughter, Emmie Faith.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Grace Pointe Baptist Church, located at 3000 E. McKinney Street in Denton, Texas.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.

The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to one of the two ministries Roger was actively involved with - Grace Pointe Youth Ministries or Think Twice Ministries. Donations for either can be made at Grace Pointe Baptist Church.
