Obituary

Ronald James Hacker, 72, of Atlanta, Texas passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 19, 1945 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Emory and Mary Hacker.

He attended L.D. Bell High School, North Texas State University and Arlington State College. Ron went to work for Bell Helicopter in 1966 but left in 1967 to serve in the United States Army. He served in the 7th Special Forces Airborne and was immensely proud of being a Green Beret. Ron later obtained his FAA commercial pilot license. In 1976 Ron graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA then went on to obtain and MBA from the University of Dallas in 1984. He left Bell Helicopter in 1989 after 19 years and became a teacher in Ft. Worth then returned to working in the defense industry with Lockheed Martin in Ft. Worth.

Ron is survived by his son Travis Hacker and his wife Jessica, granddaughter Skylar Hacker, daughter Kristin Maloney, aunt, Joy Thomas, and numerous cousins, family and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents Emory Hacker and Mary Hacker Young.

Funeral services for Ron are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at DeBerry Funeral Directors with interment immediately following the service at Old Alton Cemetery in Denton.
