Obituary

Ronald "Chris" Keasler, 45 of Denton passed away on October 1, 2016 at his home. Chris was born on February 25, 1971 in Dallas, Texas to Ronald Wadsworth and Virginia Keasler (Liz Dierksmeier).

Chris's life revolved around restoring his beloved '69 Camaro and most recently, a vintage 240Z; building, repairing, and riding bicycles; enjoying time with his brothers, niece, nephew, and parents; and his work and friends at MayDay Manufacturing. Chris was an energizer bunny of sorts who was always very active in his life.

He always seemed to have at least five bikes, three he was riding and two others being modified with something new and improved! All three brothers shared a love of cycling and often Chris, and his brother Chad, would spend a weekend mountain biking and camping.

After getting off his night shift at MayDay, he would work on his Camaro, ride his bike around Denton, sleep a bit, maybe have dinner with his brother Benjamin and start all over again. Throughout the year, he also enjoyed going to Air Shows, GoodGuy Auto Shows, the Renaissance Faire, and the Texas Sate Fair, always with Calia, his niece, and Jackson, his nephew in tow along with his parents.

No one could ask for a finer son, brother, or friend than Chris. Friendly, caring, and outgoing, he always brought a smile to those he met and would always go out of his way to help people. Chris was a very considerate and giving person - remembering and celebrating special days, working on friends cars, and walking in the Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with his Mom and family in Denton.

Recently Chris, Calia, Jackson, and his parents took a road trip to San Antonio and visited Natural Bridge Caverns, Sea World, and the Alamo. This trip demonstrated his closeness with his family even though his stamina was diminished.

He loved his job at MayDay and formed many long-term friendships with his work family. Chris was a technical wiz on mills and lathes and also took time to teach others. He was a great friend to many people there and kept spirits high.

Chris is survived by his parents, Liz and Fred Dierksmeier of Highland Village, Texas; two brothers, Chad Keasler of Denver, Colorado and Benjamin Dierksmeier of Baduda, Uganda and his uncle, Dr. Walter Keasler of Coppell, Texas.

As Chris died of complications due to bile duct cancer, donations can be made in his memory to The Cholangiocarcimoma Foundation at www.cholangiocarcinoma.org
