Rondall "Skip" Hicks, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Krum, Texas. Born on May 15, 1941, in DeLeon, Texas. Skip lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his trade, and his community.

Skip graduated from Merkel High School in 1959 before pursuing his passion for the electrical trade. His commitment to his craft led to a distinguished career as a Master Electrician. He was a devoted member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for an impressive 64 years—a testament to both his skill and steadfast work ethic.

Equally committed to service beyond his profession, Skip was also a 60-year member of the Merkel/Abilene Masonic Lodge #710.

Skip shared 34 cherished years with his beloved wife Leonore "Leo" Hicks. Together they built a blended family filled with love and lasting bonds. He is lovingly remembered by his sons Jeffery Hicks and wife Debbie, Craig Hicks; daughter Janet McKeehan and husband O.C.; stepdaughter Kristie Piper; and stepson Mark Winstead and wife Leah.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Blaine Hicks; Jerred Hicks and wife Alex with their children Braylee and Jaxon; Jeremy Hicks; Clinton Wayne McKeehan and wife Lauren with their sons Isaiah, Branton, and Maverick; Caitlin Grisham and husband Colton with their sons Hagen and Hayes; Collyn Piper; and Rilee Piper; Trevor Winstead and wife Hayley with their son Tucker. Each of them carries forward memories of time spent together—memories that will be treasured for generations.

Skip was preceded in death by his parents Vestal and Ethel Hicks, as well as his brothers Hack, Eldon, and Wayman Hicks. Their memory remained close to him throughout his life.

Those who knew Skip will remember him not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the strength of character he brought into every relationship. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.

A Visitation Service will be held on May 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors 2025 W. University Dr. Denton, Tx. Followed by a Graveside Service on May 16, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 01:30 PM at Justin Cemetery FM 156 south, Justin, Tx.
