Rosalie Mayer Remley, 99, of Denton passed away on April 6, 2024, at her home. She was born in New York City on December 11, 1924, to Arthur and Carrie Weiss Mayer.

While getting her Masters in Spanish at Kansas University she met/fell in love and married Dr. William Arch Remley on July 13, 1947. They were married almost 60 years before he passed away in 2007. Rosalie and Bill were both only children and knew they wanted a big family. They had six sons and one daughter before they stopped trying for a second daughter.

She was devoted to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church for 73 years as an Elder, President of the Women's Association and Sunday school teacher. She especially enjoyed volunteering with the After School and Daily Bread Programs.

Rosalie was in several community programs as a volunteer. She was a substitute teacher for Denton Public Schools after her kids were older and she had some spare time. She enjoyed volunteering at Flow Memorial Hospital when it was the only hospital in Denton.

She loved playing tennis and watching it on TV. She played in several bridge clubs for over 70 years. Reading a good book and doing daily crossword puzzles or watching KU sports entertained her for hours.

She is survived by her daughter, Patty Roe, of Washington, sons; William A. Remley, Jr., of Denton, Charles A. Remley of Denton, John A. Remley of Denton, James A. Remley and his wife, Renee of Carrollton, Tx., Michael A. Remley of Denton, grandchildren, Brandon Remley, Michael Roe, Kyle Roe, Sally Pratt, Leslie Roe, Kathleen Greenlee, Kelly Norris, and Chris Remley, great-grandchildren, Christopher Fredlund and wife McKenna, Calvin Tanner, Ian Tanner, Logan Greenlee, Ethan Greenlee, and Kealen Ashby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Remley, her son, Mark A. Remley, and her mother and father.
