IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosamaria
Martinez
February 25, 1947 – October 14, 2025
Rosamaria Martinez passed away at her home in Denton, Texas on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was born in Laredo, Texas to Ernesto and Carmela de Lachica on February 25, 1947.
Rosamaria dedicated many years to a career in banking before her retirement, but her greatest and most cherished role was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. A devoted wife to her husband of 56 years, Javier Martinez, Rosamaria was the heart of her family—steadfast, nurturing, and full of grace. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, whose lives were forever enriched by her warmth and wisdom.
Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, Rosamaria was an active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, served faithfully as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at San Martín de Porres in Laredo, Texas and found purpose in helping others.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ernesto and Carmela de Lachica, her grandson Xander Martinez and her daughter Cristina Smith.
A Rosary will be held at 9:00AM, Friday, October 24, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church followed by a Mass at 10:00AM. Rosamaria will be buried at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service.
Rosamaria is survived by her husband, Javier Martinez; her son-in-law, Bradley Smith, and granddaughter, Gabriella; her daughter, Claudia Martinez (Sebastian and Zachary) and fiancé, Steven Youngblood; her son, Javier A. Martinez (Kaleb, Gavin, and Olivier) and spouse, Hayley Martinez; her sister, Carmela Martinez (Carlos, Leticia, and Ramon); and many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
"They say memories are golden, well maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, NO one could ever fill."
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice that supports compassion, community, or the betterment of humanity.
