Leon Brisman

Jul 20, 1936 — Jul 2, 2026

Denton

Roy “Leon” Brisman, 89, of Denton, Texas, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 2, 2026.

Born on July 20, 1936, to Leonard “Roy” and Sadie Brisman, Leon was raised on the family farm outside Calumet, Oklahoma where he began his education at the one-room Cornerdoor Schoolhouse located across from the farm. He graduated from Calumet High School in 1954, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team.

Leon later graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Accounting and went on to build a career in the accounting profession. He worked for 19 years at Conoco Oil & Gas, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where he and his family lived for 39 years before moving to Denton in 2009 to be closer to family and to enjoy watching his grandchildren grow up.

Above all else, Leon was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He loved Jesus, his family, the Oklahoma Sooners, and woodworking. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he faithfully served as a deacon in the churches he attended in Asher and Ponca City, Oklahoma. He found great joy in serving and supporting the ministry of the church. His life was a testament to God’s faithfulness, and he desired that others would know the hope and salvation found in Christ.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard “Roy” Brisman and Sadie Brisman.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 62 years, Freda Brisman; his daughter, Kendra Imbus and her husband, Scott; his son, Robert Brisman and his wife, Heather; and his cherished grandchildren, Catherine, Clara and her husband, Zach, Camille, and Caroline.
