Roy Gordon Riney, 74, of Denton passed away on June 11, 2015 in Denton, Texas. Roy was born in Denton, Texas to Harry and Francis (Rosson) Riney. Mr. Riney graduated from Denton High School and was on the golf team there. Roy was a member of the Lions Club and Asbury United Methodist Church. Mr. Riney was the owner of Roy Riney Insurance Company of Denton, Texas.
As a young man, he began his insurance and real estate career working alongside his father at Harry Riney Enterprises in the early 1960's. In 1972, he started Roy Riney Insurance and Auto Sales serving the community with their home, life, and automobile insurance needs. He held multiple professional state licenses to include insurance for property, casualty, life and health. He held a real estate brokers license as well and served as an attorney in fact for Consolidated Lloyds Consumers County Mutual Insurance Company.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Riney, two daughters, Pamela Kalthoff and Kimberley Hawkins, Son, Tracy Riney, two sisters, Mary Nell Dye of Denton, Shirley Janette Teague of Tyler, Texas, brother Robert Thomas Riney of Aubrey, three grandchildren, Chance Michael Riney, Brooke Danielle Martin, Elizabeth Ashley Hawkins and four nieces and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Harry and Francis Riney, sister, Jennifer Riney and grandson, Wade Gordon Riney.

The family will receive friends at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:00 am internment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton, Texas.
