Obituary

RoyAnn Tallant passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was the daughter of Roy and Winnie Jo Hanna, born in Wichita Falls July 6, 1929. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1946 and attended Midwestern University. She married Jack Weems in 1948 and they had two children, Craig Weems of Houston and Sherry Lee of Denton. She married Hank Tallant in 1989, and he passed away in 2001. RoyAnn worked for Union Carbide and later SFW Investments in Houston as an executive assistant. After "retirement" in Denton, she worked part time at First State Bank and also volunteered for many years in the office at Trinity Methodist Church.

She loved to travel and lived on three continents, making homes in Venezuela, Singapore, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. She was an avid card player, making many friends over 8 decades of playing bridge. With the Trippers of First Methodist she made trips to Europe, Canada and beautiful places in the US. RoyAnn also enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and crosswords.

RoyAnn is survived by her son Craig, daughter Sherry, and four grandchildren: Linda, (Zac), David (Ruth), Stephanie (Eric), Marty (Lindsay) and their families. Great-grandchildren Caleb, Teddy, Daniel, and Jenna were the delight of her life. She is predeceased by her parents, brother Joe Hanna, and sister Mary Hanna.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2:00PM, Friday, January 23, 2026 at Denton Village, 2500 Hinkle Dr, Denton, Texas 76201. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Refuge Ministries at 1701 Broadway, Denton, Texas 76201.
