Obituary

Rubin "Frank" Sandstrum, 67, of Humble, Texas passed away on April 6, 2025, in Denton, Texas. He was born in Lufkin, Texas on July 4, 1957, to Rubin "Bo" and Billie Jo Sandstrum.

Frank was a kind and gentle-hearted soul who enjoyed acts of service for others. He would drop anything to go fishing in a heartbeat. He feared God and was strong in his faith. He always knew how to find the good in a tough situation.

Rubin cherished and loved his family. Although at this time it is unfinished, he worked tirelessly on his book "Deo Volente" with hopes to inspire the reader. He had many adventures including: working as a commercial fisherman in Alaska and panning for gold in Colorado. He was such an interesting character with colorful stories and always a listening ear.

He is survived by his son, Matthew Sandstrum of Krugerville, Texas, his brothers, Donald Sandstrum, Herman Sandstrum, James Sandstrum, and Allen Sandstrum; and his grandson, Mason Sandstrum.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sandstrum, his mother and father, his sister, Sabra Gaile Cayton, and his brother, Bobby Joe Sandstrum.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Jonesville Cemetery in Huntington, Texas.
