Ruby Fay Henderson, 104, of Denton, Texas passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 in Denton, Texas. She was born in Roaring Springs, Texas to William and Nanny Taylor on December 24, 1909.
She married Ernest Roy Henderson in Roaring Springs, Texas in 1927.
Rubylead a full and active life where she enjoyed working in her beautiful garden and worked and tended it until she was 103 years old. As an LVN, Ruby worked a number of years at the Denton State School. She was a volunteer with Friends of the Family for many, many years. She loved spending time with her family, preparing delicious meals and making every holiday a joyous occasion, especially Christmas! Besides her family, her favorite activity was bowling! She bowled in 3 leagues a week until the age of 95, and never refused to sub for anyone. She was really quite good! She lived to see 6 generations born, with the 6th generation great great great grandson born just last month. Here is what her grandchildren had to say: Our sweet Granny lived a wonderfully full life and was kind, good, and loving to everyone especially to all us kids! She will be very missed! But oh what a wonderful time she must be having now! We will see her again!
She is Survived by one daughter, Ruby Lee Brown of Collinsville, Texas, two sons; Charles Henderson and wife, Hisako of Florida, Tildon Ray Henderson and wife Virginia of Denton, Texas, 7 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 13 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Great Grandson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest R Henderson, her parents, William and Nanny Taylor two daughters, Annie Lois McAllister and Thelma Nichols and one son, Floyd Altus Henderson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. The funeral will follow at 2:30 PM on Monday, December 15, 2014 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Dan Eakin and Rev. Otis Lee presiding. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Denton, Texas.
