Ruby Nell Starnes, 85, of Denton passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Denton. She was born on July 26, 1929 in Frisco to Henry Earl Birdsong and Georgia Wells Birdsong (Walters). She married LeRoy Starnes on June 14, 1947 in Decatur. She worked for Sears in the Customer Service, was a member of Willowwood Church of the Nazarene and a volunteer at Denton Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Willowwood Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mark Ramsey and Rev. Bruce Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum.

Ruby is survived by her husband, LeRoy Starnes; daughters, Carole Hunt and husband Leon, Peggy Walters and husband Michael; son, James Earl Starnes; grandchildren, Lesa DePrater, Mark Berg, Michele Moon, Jason Starnes, and Rachel Acord; great grandchildren, Michael Moon, Hunter DePrater and Mattalynn Moon; brothers, Jerry David Walters, Glen Paul Walters and Curtis Dale Walters. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters and grandson, Michael Starnes.

The family has requested donations may be made to Willowwood Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
