Ruperto (Chief) Puente, 58 of Denton into his Heavenly home on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 27, 1955 in Nuevo Mercurio, Zachatecas, Mexico. He married Joy McGaugh on May 23, 1980 in Denton. He was a foreman for CBS Mechanical and a member of Church of Christ.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 5 – 7 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Monday, October 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Argyle Church of Christ with George Carman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

He is survived his wife, Joy Puente of Denton; daughters, Laura Alcantar and husband Joey of Denton, Jessie Puente of Denton and Dora Alicia Puente of Nuevo Laredo Mexico; son, Gabriel Puente and wife Keri of Denton; mother, Maria De Jesus Puente of Nuevo Laredo Mexico; sisters, Orailia Hernandez of Nuevo Laredo Mexico and Tina Hernandez of Saltillo Mexico and 5 grandchildren. Also, he is survived by nieces and nephews and his in-laws, Roy and Ruth McGaugh and many other family members and friends who cherish their memories of him.
