Russell Eugene Pulley, 69, of Corinth, Texas passed away on March 5, 2025, in Denton. He was born in Panama City, Florida, on February 1, 1956, to Leon and Betty Pulley.

Russell attended Robert E. Lee High school in Tyler, Texas. Post graduation accepted a spot on the Stephen F Austin golf team, to later transfer to play golf at the University of Texas, Austin. His love and dedication to the game carried him into a life-long career as a golf professional, receiving his PGA license in 1978. He moved to Grapevine, Texas 1984 to become the golf professional at Grapevine Golf Course. In 1984, moved to Denton to become the golf professional at the Denton Country Club where he worked for 18 years. In 2002 he went back to Grapevine to later be the Director of Golf, retiring in 2021. He loved the game but enjoyed teaching it even more! He was a great teacher.

Russell was a proud husband to his wife, Raye Ann for over 39 years, raising their twin daughters. He enjoyed watching his girls compete, no matter the sport, but we all know he could get a little rowdy or should we say passionate! Rusty loved spending time with his family. He also had a musical side, just him and his guitar .. well and his dog Murphy.  He was incredibly proud to be Nora and Eleanor's "Rusty" – he delighted in having granddaughters.

Russell is survived by his wife, Raye Ann Pulley of Corinth, Texas, daughters, Melissa Smith and her husband Les of Argyle, Texas, Megan Cox and her husband, Ryan and grandchildren, Nora and Eleanor, of Highland Village, Texas, his brother, Mike Pulley and his wife, Karen of Houston, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Russell was preceded in death by his mother and father and his sister, Sharron Obergon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
