Mary Ruth Seat Crain, 94, born August 7, 1926 to Gordon and Edna Seat in West, Texas, died January 26, 2021.

Mrs. Crain graduated from North Texas State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. While in college, she met her husband, Charles "Chick" Crain, to whom she was married for 53 years. While completing her master's degree in Education, she began teaching at Sam Houston Elementary and taught second grade at Frank Borman Elementary for many years before retiring.

Mrs. Crain was a member of First United Methodist Church for 74 years, where she taught children's Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. In their young single adult Sunday School class, six couples started a Supper Club that met monthly for thirty-four years and formed life long friendships. Among her friends, Ruth was well known for her delicious velvet brownies.

After a fruitful and faithful life, Mrs. Crain is survived by her daughters, Peggy Nolen of Krum, Diane Brooks and husband John of Dallas; granddaughters, Rachel Norfleet and husband Kevin, Kaitlin Wade and husband Devin, and Julia Brooks; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Luke Wade and Brooks Norfleet; sister-in-law, Joyce Seat; nieces, Randy Killian, Lela Goodman, Linda Eaker, Judy Dwyer, Carolyn Ward, Sherry Seat, and Susan Stuber; nephew, Harry Slack, Jr,

Mrs. Crain was preceded in death by her husband, Chick Crain; sister, Katherine Eaker, brothers, Gordon Seat, Jr., and John Seat, sisters-in-laws, Nancy Slack and Maureen Brown and brothers-in-laws, Harry Slack and Pete Eaker.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date, as will the family burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Denton.
