Ruth Ann Hyndman Hickman passed away in Denton, Texas on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. She was 84 years of age. Ruth Ann was born to Edens Hyndman and Ruth Sutton Hyndman on September 3, 1939 in Corsicana, Texas.
The Hyndmans moved to Sherman, Texas in 1940. Ruth Ann graduated from Sherman High School in the class of 1957. She continued her education at North Texas State University, pledged the Alpha Phi sorority, and earned her degree in social studies. She married her husband of 24 years, Gordon R. Hickman on February 23, 1963. She taught social studies at Denton High School from 1965 through 1967 until the birth of her first of three daughters.
Ruth Ann was a resident of Denton for 60 years. She was active in the community, enjoying membership in the Denton Benefit League, Ariel Club, and First United Methodist Church of Denton.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her husband Randy, her parents and brother (Edens Hyndman Jr.), and her daughter Shelly. She is survived by her daughters Eden Hickman Hogan and Ginger Hickman, and son-in-law Brian Hogan. She is also survived by her pride and joy triplet grandchildren, Melanie, Miranda, and Cameron Hogan, as well as their spouses, Thomas and Sarah.
Ruth Ann was a warrior in her fight against Parkinson's disease. Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Denton on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and 11:00 a.m., with a visitation with the family at 10:00 a.m. She will then be interred at Roselawn Memorial Park.
