IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth Nobles
Hoffpauer
October 17, 1923 – November 20, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Ruth Nobles Hoffpauer as she was called to our Lord on Monday, November 20, surrounded by loved ones.
Before moving to Port Isabel to live with and be cared for by her daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca & Paul Seales, she was from the Deport area of Texas, a rural cotton farming community. As a child, after the harvest, Hoffpauer & her siblings gleaned the fields for any missed tufts of cotton to help pay for their school clothes during the Depression.
Years later, when she entered the workforce, a handsome salesman by the name of Benjamin Franklin Hoffpauer came to the glass blowing factory in Tyler, Texas where young Ruth was working. No one knows if he sold anything, but a relationship was born that culminated into a lasting marriage that produced four children, Barbara (Beale), James, Scott & Rebecca (Seales).
Ruth Nobles Hoffpauer became a centenarian last month. At her birthday party to mark this occasion, the Mayor of Port Isabel presented her with a commemorative proclamation. That weekend, almost the entire family & close friends gathered around at her daughter's home in Port Isabel to celebrate Hoffpauer's noteworthy milestone.
Ruth is survived by her children, numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Services were held on Friday, November 24, 2023 in Denton, Texas.
