Salvador "Sam" De La Rosa, 67, of Denton passed away on August 11, 2020 in Denton. He was born in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Elias and Josefa De La Rosa on February 23, 1953.

Sam graduated from Crozier Tech High School. Upon graduation Sam and MaryAnn were married on Dec 11,  1971 and he quickly started working for the Elevator Union Local 21. Sam continued to work for Local 21 until he retired in 2017. Becoming restless at home he quickly pursued another career as an elevator inspector where he worked until the last of his days.

He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; studying the Bible, chatting with friends and family, snacking, coaching baseball and spending time with his big family (his mom, brother, sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren). Sam had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way! He never knew a stranger! This was one of the greatest things about him.

Sam was a man of God that had a pure heart and expressed genuine love to everyone he met. He was an elder in his church, Life Fellowship and taught Sunday school. He was a very devoted family man and raised his family in the ways of The Lord. For this they have comfort in knowing he is resting in peace and will one day be united with them in heaven!

He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn De La Rosa, daughter, Alisha Turner and her husband Tyren of Denton, sons, Adam De La Rosa of Ft. Worth, Jason Paul De La Rosa and wife Alex of Denton, Abraham Samuel De La Rosa and wife Bridgett of Argyle, his mother, Josefa De La Rosa,  sisters, Estella Rangel of Dallas, Rachel Alonzo of Dallas, Laticia Casarez of Dallas, brother, Alfredo De La Rosa of Dallas, sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elias De La Rosa, and his brother Elias De La Rosa, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 1-3 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Life Fellowship Church in Denton, Texas.
