IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Samuel Peter
"Pete" Kimbrough
July 26, 1994 – November 4, 2025
Our hearts are grief laden at the passing of Samuel Peter "Pete" Kimbrough. July 26,1994 - November 4, 2025
Beloved son of Ruth Edwards and Joey Kimbrough
Pete was a poet, songwriter, guitarist, artist and humanitarian. So full of love and laughter, Pete enjoyed reading, riding his bike, making music and gaming with friends. The hijinx of his youth we shall not mention here. Little children, the elderly, and animals were drawn to him. He was a gentle man who could quiet tears or bring out a belly laugh in a moment. What a great laugh he had. Pete was a sensitive, considerate, deep, creative, intelligent, whimsical, silly and polite man. A beacon of light in many lives; kind in nature; with an open heart, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a bear hug and uplifting word to share.
Pete was a gentle soul, generous to all whether stranger, family or friend. He helped whomever he could. Oh, the many times he came home without shoes, shirt, jacket, out of gas, out of money and emotionally spent. For behind that beautiful smile hid a heart, so kind yet so fragile that he struggled sometimes not to give in to sadness, the shadow which beckoned, but did not prevail because Pete bravely fought on and would not succumb. It was God's hand which led Pete gently home that day to a place of joy, wholeness and rest and we whom he left to yet wander this earth will hold Pete in our hearts and memories until we can stroll hand in hand with him once again in that heavenly place.
Pete is reunited now in heaven with his grandparents: Arthur J Edwards, Jane Schlehr (husband, George), Wallace Kimbrough, Bill White (husband of Bobbie White), Gene Housley (uncle), Danni Wood (niece), and Augie (best friend and fur baby).
Pete is survived by his mother, Ruth Edwards, his father, Joey Kimbrough (wife, Elizabeth Clarke), his brother, Benjamin E Kimbrough (wife, Kelsey), Harrison Clarke (step brother), Bobbie White (paternal grandmother), Bette Kimbrough (step grandmother), and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and so many friends all so dear to him.
The Celebration of Pete's Life will be Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Isle du Bois on Lake Ray Roberts.
