IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Jean
Hall
December 23, 1945 – August 10, 2024
Our family unexpectedly lost our matriarch, Sandra Jean Hall, on August 10, 2024. She was just 78 years old. While born in Carrizo Springs southwest of San Antonio on December 23, 1945, Sandra spent most of her adult life in Denton, a community she was happy to call home. Sandy was the eldest child of Belle Echols and Ponder Pickett and sister of Cindy Cowsar and Paul Pickett. Sandy is survived by her siblings as well as her husband, David Hall and her sons, William and Benjamin Hall. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren that were the joy of her life; Greyson Hall of Denton, TX, Alexander Sarmiento and Tori Sarmiento both of Portage, MI.
Sandra lost her own father very young and immediately took up responsibility for her siblings, a trait she carried on her entire life. She became a degreed registered nurse working at places like Parklands Neonatal ICU, Flow Memorial Hospital in their labor and delivery department, and retiring from the Denton State School, where she took care of those in need of all ages and conditions. In her work she directly impacted countless children, mothers, families, and the most vulnerable in our society. In her personal life she was an inspiring friend to many. She was a woman of faith, love, and understanding.
The funeral service is at Dallas National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX on September 6th at 12:45 PM, lane 1. The memorial service will be held at Singing Oaks Church of Christ at 101 Cardinal Dr., Denton, TX on Saturday, September 7th at 1:00 PM. Go in God's grace Mom. We miss you.
Our family requests if you wish to give, that any donations be made to a non-partisan charity focused on helping children, Sandy believed in what unites us, not division.
