IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon Lou
Griffith
December 14, 1949 – December 4, 2023
Sharon L. Griffith, 73, of Denton, Texas passed away at her home on December 4, 2023, surrounded by friends and family. Sharon was born on December 14, 1949, in Justin, Texas and graduated from Denton High School in 1968.
Sharon had a true passion for serving others and was always the first one to lend a helping hand. She cared deeply about her friends and family and always looked for opportunities to show her love, never expecting anything in return. Whether it was hosting parties at her house, high school reunions, birthday parties or just visiting her friends and family, Sharon always found ways to celebrate and prioritize others.
Sharon's hobbies included gardening, cooking, decorating pretty much anything that could be decorated, and all things Christmas. Every year, she would create a true winter wonderland at her house. Her plentiful Christmas trees, matching wrapping paper and bows, and absolute love for everything Christmas were unparalleled. A Christmas with Sharon was a spectacular event.
However, her greatest passion in life was her grandchildren. Sharon relished her role as "Gigi" and took every possible opportunity she could to spend time with them, whether in person or over FaceTime. She was also a very proud Gigi, and if you ever spoke to her over the last decade or so, you probably heard everything about her beloved grandchildren. It was the role of her lifetime, and she played that role perfectly.
In 2019, Sharon was diagnosed with lung cancer. To her, every day on Earth was another day to spend with her friends and family. She fought a long and courageous battle with the love of her life, Alan Calvert, by her side every step of the way. She showed strength and grace through her final days, while still serving others.
Sharon is survived by her great love and partner of 25 years Alan Calvert; her three children, Scott Griffith, Chad (Milly) Griffith, and Lindsay (Kyle) Coker; grandchildren Harper, Natalie, Emma Grace, Ellis, Aubrey, Jack and Collins; and her mother, Imogene Evans.
