IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon Dianne
Sandifer Harrington
March 25, 1950 – November 5, 2024
On November 5, 2024, Sharon Dianne Sandifer Harrington left this earthly world for heaven, where we imagine she's already telling Jesus a good pun. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Elzie and Eloise Sandifer, Sharon blessed this world with her laughter, songs, and amazing wit.
Sharon had a knack for making friends with everyone she met, even if it was just a quick chat in the grocery store. Known for her infectious laughter, she enjoyed a good cup of coffee, birdwatching, and singing for friends and family. Sharon graduated from Woodlawn High School, where she began singing "We'll Remember Thee," a song she carried in her heart—and shared with anyone within earshot—ever since. While Sharon struggled with the things that come with extreme intelligence, she lived her life with faith and grace. Her unique memory ensured that she never forgot a birthday or important date and she would send a thoughtful card or gift. She brought warmth and joy everywhere she went and never missed an opportunity for a pun or a playful jab. Sharon loved a good laugh. Her humor and corny jokes were a gift she passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband and partner in crime, Ronnie Harrington, with whom she shared many happy years. She leaves behind her brother, Dennis Sandifer, who she affectionately (and frequently) told to "take his drum and beat it." Dennis, of course, took it literally, marching to the beat of his own drum. In her absence, we're sure he'll carry on her rhythm, with the steady support of his wife, Vicki, who helps keep him in time. She is also survived by her daughters: Lexie Lee (Ron), Holly Crone (Brett), and Olivia "Libby" Milstead (Keith), each of whom competed to be her "favorite" (she took great delight in keeping that mystery alive!). She would only reply that they were each in the "top three." She leaves behind her five grandchildren, Amy, Austin, Reagan "Saline", Ryder, and Kyle, who were her pride and joy. Nothing brought a smile to her face like being in their presence.
The family would like to express their great gratitude to the staff of Carriage House and Concho Hearts Hospice for the love and support they showed Sharon.
A graveside service will be held at the DFW National Cemetery on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
In Sharon's memory, please bring a corny joke to share or a song to hum—she would've loved that.
Sharon loved Jesus with all her heart and used her beautiful voice to sing his praises daily. We know she's now singing with the angels, bringing joy and laughter to heaven. And to all of us left here, she'd say: "Do not grieve as those who have no hope." Heaven's choir just got a lot sweeter.
