IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry Ann
Graves
June 25, 1952 – August 6, 2025
Sherry Ann Glenn Graves danced into heaven on August 6, 2025. Her dance started when she flew down from heaven and landed in the arms of her precious parents Troy Dell Glenn and Sylva Jo Sitton Glenn on June 25, 1952 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The Lord gave her an amazing spirit that always loved intensely and profoundly. Her voracious love for God, family, and laughter was infectious from the time she was placed on earth until the day her spirit lifted into the heavens. From running the dirt roads of Mayhill Road in Denton, to the mountains of Arkansas and Colorado, she loved adventure. Whether she was sinking metal wash tubs with her cousins, having a food fight with her siblings in their home on Bolivar Street, fishing with her husband Ken, or being fun and goofy with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids, her intention was always to bring joy and make lasting memories.
The number one priority in her faith walk was to teach and spread the word and love of her Savior Jesus and to walk that faith out in real life. This was accomplished through intense biblical study, teaching multiple Sunday school classes, women's conferences, Bible study groups, drama, music, writing her own Bible studies, and all the work she did with and for Val's House ministries.
In 1973 she gave birth to a daughter, Celeste, whom she always said was a gift from God. When really it was the other way around. Her daughter was gifted a precious mother who stopped at nothing to make her feel her love and the love of God.
She met the love of her life, Ken Graves, by breaking her typewriter so he would have to come and fix it, guaranteeing another encounter. They married on August 7, 1981. He brought with him an amazing son Greg, and an immense joy to her and our family, with a love that lasted over 40 years and counting.
Our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and beloved friend, endured pain in this life, but she never stayed stuck in that pain. She knew she was part of a bigger legacy. She carried that responsibility with more grace and etiquette than almost anyone we have ever known. Sherry would be the prim and proper diva, dressed to the nines with a "Sherry hat", jewelry, and "Sherry shoes" - but also the girl in the dirt making mud pies, looking for treasures and rocks with the kids, knee-deep in mud and dirt, or putting nasty stink bait on your fishing line because you couldn't stand the smell.
We will all miss the love, faith and care she poured out on all of us. It was an honor walking through this life with her, and we will all treasure each memory. And yes, we will continue the legacy she received of faith, love, and service.
She left many here to continue our own walk. She would encourage us all to walk with Philippians 4:13 which she lived out daily -
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
And to quote a phrase she uttered many times. "We love you past God" and will join you dancing and singing in heaven when our walk on Earth is complete.
In lieu of flowers please donate to two places Sherry loved. Camp Copass, or Val's House International Ministries.
