Shirley Jean Baird, 79, of Denton, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. She was born on April 17, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert Hamilton Vedder and Doris Laverne Evans Vedder. She graduated from Center High School in Kansas City in 1951 and married Edward Allen Baird on June 29, 1952. She had lived in Denton for fifty years and was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 8 from 3 to 5 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 West University, Denton. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 10 at 2 pm at Mount Washington Forever Cemetery, Independence, Missouri.

Shirley is survived by her son Keith Allen Baird and his partner Laura Kobler of Austin; sisters, Linda Vedder and Donna Lemaster; brothers, Richard Vedder and Robert Vedder; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother George Vedder.
