Obituary

Shirley Ann (Brown) Enlow of Bowie Texas, went to her heavenly home on December 5th 2025.  Shirley Ann Enlow was born on November 28, 1936 in Corinth, Texas, as the only child of John Burnice Brown and Evelyn Marie (McLeod) Brown.   Both her paternal and maternal grandparents were early settlers of the Lewisville and Corinth communities.  She attended school at Corinth, North Texas Demonstration School, and was a 1954 graduate of Denton High School.  Shortly after graduation, Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Julius Bill Enlow on May 28, 1954.  Their early marriage years were spent in Galveston and Port Arthur, Texas as well as New Orleans, Louisiana, while Bill served in the US Coast Guard.  Two sons were born to this marriage.  Shirley was a homemaker and also a real estate broker and later owned and managed Enlow's Corinth Mini-Storage Facility.  After having lived many years in Irving, following Bill's retirement, they lived in the Corinth/Denton area for several years before moving to Bowie, Texas, and became members of First Baptist Church of Bowie.   Shirley enjoyed shopping; bargain hunting; being a Mamaw; and spending time talking to friends on the telephone.  In their later years, Bill and Shirley have been residents of Independence Hall in Bowie, TX and the family is very appreciative for the care they have received there.

Shirley is survived by husband Bill Enlow, sons Dwayne Enlow (Brenda) of Bowie and Bill Enlow (Lesa) of Wichita Falls.  Other survivors include grandchildren Blake Enlow (Addie); Jonathan Enlow (Monica); and Brady Enlow (Juhre); as well as great grandchildren: Laney, Molly, Jake, Aubree, Harper, Leah and Emily Enlow.  Shirley is preceded in death by her parents John Burnice and Evelyn Marie Brown and grandson John Ramsey Enlow.

Funeral services include a visitation at 9:30 am followed by a service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Bowie, 306 Cooper Street, Bowie, TX 76230.  Services will be officiated by Ethan Sandusky and Mike Henson.  Burial will follow at Gribble Springs Cemetery, 7178 FM 2164, Sanger, TX.  If desired, Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bowie Building Fund.
