Obituary

Shirley Mae Pena, 76, of Denton, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021.  She was born on October 31, 1944 in Denton to John and Pauline (Hard) Mayfield.

She was a graduate of Denton High School and married Thomas Pena on October 1, 1968 in Denton.  She was retired from the Super Target in Denton.

Shirley was such a sweet lady to all who knew her and anyone who met her and acquaintances alike... She believed in loyalty and always stood by her husbands side for 52 years, he was the love of her life... she was such a loving mom as well. Shirley loved her daughter, her sister, her nieces and nephews and she was an even extra loving doggie mom, she had so many dogs throughout her life and she especially loved her most recent lil dog named Dottie also known as Tinky... and she even loved their cows as if they were pets.

She loved going on vacation with her husband, she loved taking cruises and dressing up... she also loved camping with the family. She was such a humble person, in that she could of had anything her heart desired but she really loved and chose to live a more simple life. She loved her home more than anything.

She was one of a kind, a very unique person. She always treated people with respect and never wanted to cause any trouble. She was kinda quiet and minded her own business. She loved going out with her sister every week-end, they would go out to eat or to the Botanical Gardens or the Zoo or even a good movie.

Shirley had so much love to share and always had time for you. She would always make you feel special and gave good motherly advice.

We will all miss her so much and her silly jokes. We will never forget her laugh. We will miss her friendship and love. She will never be far away from our thoughts and will always be in our hearts.

We will love you always and we will  never forget you!

Rest in Peace
