Shirley Mary Shimota Revering, age 79, of Denton, Texas,
passed away February 8, 2022, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Shirley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bertha, Minnesota, on September 12, 1942, to
Octiva and Joseph Shimota. She graduated from Clarissa High
School then moved to Minneapolis and worked at Honeywell. She
met Bill Revering and they were married on July 8, 1963 and
celebrated 58 years of marriage last year. They first lived in
Minnetonka, Minnesota, and then moved to Alexandria, Minnesota.
There they had three children, Brenda, Brad, and Jennifer. While in
Alexandria, Shirley and Bill owned several businesses. She was very
active in St. Mary's Catholic Church and taught CCD for over 25
years. She enjoyed golfing and any outdoor activities. Fishing was
her favorite.

The family moved to Texas in 1980 and called the Austin area
home for several years ultimately settling in Georgetown. While
living in Georgetown, Shirley started the annual kolache bake
fundraiser at St. Helens Catholic Church. It was a huge success and
it continues to this day. In 2015, Shirley and Bill moved to Denton,
Texas, to be closer to family. Moving into Robson Ranch they
immediately made friends and were active in the community. They
joined several clubs such as the RV club, Women's Club, Men's
Club, Golf, Bocce, Garden Club, Poker, Euchre, and Bible study and
several other clubs. Shirley enjoyed entertaining at their home.
Christmas parties were their most famous.

Shirley has five grandchildren, Blake Winkley, Megan Converse,
Nicole Kramer, Jack Revering and Emily Revering, and one great
grandson, Everett Converse. She was very excited to celebrate her
mother's 100th birthday on July 5th, 2021, at which time the family
captured a five generation picture. Shirley was always very busy,
but never too busy for family. Her most precious moments were
having everyone around and cooking meals together.

Shirley is preceded in death by her father Joseph Shimota and
her brother Joe Shimota. She is survived by her mother Octiva
Shimota, husband Bill Revering, children Brenda (Steve) Sherwood,
Brad (Jennifer) Revering, and Jennifer Revering. Grandchildren
Blake Winkley, Megan (Jonny) Converse, Nicole Kramer, Jack
Revering and Emily Revering, great grandson Everett Converse and
sister Beverly Geraets.

Marks Catholic Church of Denton.

Visitation and Rosary will be held Wednesday, February 16th
from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Bill DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton.
Funeral mass will be Thursday, February 17th at 10:30 am at St.
Marks Catholic Church in Argyle. Reception to follow.
