IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stanton Mccamey
Sembroski
December 25, 1975 – November 2, 2025
Stanton McCamey Sembroski passed away at the age of 49 in Denton, Texas on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Stan was born and raised in Garland, Texas, graduating from North Garland High School before earning his degree in Computer Science from the University of North Texas. During his youth, he developed a lifelong love of film and video games, working at United Artists movie theaters while attending school where he met Ashlee. For the past 20 years, Stan was honored to dedicate his professional career to Liberty Software in Southlake, Texas, where he found creative solutions to problems and truly enjoyed sharing his experience and expertise as he developed software. Stan enjoyed his work but lived such an amazing and fulfilling life outside of that world: Attending concerts, riding his bike, curating his record collection, making his famous Chex mix, building gaming PC's with the boys, collecting 16mm films and traveling with Ashlee. Last year, Stan and Ashlee made the trip of a lifetime to Italy with their "ride-or-die" friends for life: Maran and Matt, which will remain a cherished memory (Prego!).
Nothing made Stan happier than caring for his family: He loved laughing and teaching Addison and Jackson through action. Whether replacing the roof himself, or modeling how to solve problems with appliances, Stan showed his love through acts of service. He learned his love of gardening from his dad, and he felt at peace digging in the earth, with his earbuds in, listening to Morrissey, Radiohead and his 80's playlist.
Stan was a man of few words but shared an endless amount of compassion and care for others. He listened so well and spoke so little, but the impact of his words were powerful. He was someone you could rely on for support in your time of need. He was a devoted husband to Ashlee and a loving father to Addison and Jackson. His kindness, wit, and steady support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Stan is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ashlee, and their sons, Addison and Jackson; mother, Esta Barnes of Georgetown; sisters, Stephanie (Lance) Goforth of Burnet, and Holly Winter of Bedford; nieces: Caroline Tamul, Ella and Harper Wiebe, Abby and Charlee Guajardo; extended family: Lee and Crystal Folse, Casey and John Guajardo, Michael Folse, Lance and Carolene Folse, Maran and Matt Wiebe, Les and Connie Folse, Nick and Tesia Folse and Amanda and Bryan Western.
He is preceded in death by his father, Constant Sembroski; stepfather, Bobby Barnes, as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations be made to Denton Public School Foundation, in addition to the Denton Foundation scholarship, Liberty will be setting up 529 accounts for the boys college education, details to be shared later.
Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13 from 5-7pm, with funeral services following at DeBerry on November 14th at 10:00am.
