Damore
March 12, 1950 – July 5, 2019
Stella K. Damore, of Corinth, Texas passed away on July 5, 2019 at her home, with her family. Stella was born in Cleveland, Ohio to George and Helen Kanellos.
Stella grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, later moving to Columbus, Ohio for college and is a graduate of The Ohio State University. While attending Ohio State, she worked in the High Energy Physics Lab, tracking neutrinos. Later on, she worked in the apartment industry, for law firms, and in sales. After moving to Texas in 1988, is when and where some of her greatest work was accomplished. She was able to become a stay-at-home Mom, later raising her four boys on her own as a widow. Additionally, Stella served the Denton and Corinth communities in several different areas: as President of Ryan High School's PTA; as President of the Oakmont Women's Club; served on the Denton Community Council PTA board; and volunteered with Friends of the Family.
Stella loved life. Aside from volunteering in the community, she enjoyed attending church, watching football (Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys), but most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons; Chris Cooper and wife, Melissa and children, Cade and Cameron, of Denton, Texas; Mike Cooper of Frisco, Texas; Robert Damore of Athens, Greece, and Jason Damore of Denton, Texas; twin sister, Anna Brown of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Damore, her mother and father, and sister, Mary Kay Davis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2019 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM following the visitation, in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday. Interment will follow the funeral service at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
