Stephanie Jean Campbell, 64, of Valley View, Texas passed away on September 7, 2023. She was born in Nocona, Texas on July 12, 1959 to Joe and Barbara Keck.

She graduated Denton High School in 1977, where she excelled at Typing and Shorthand. She later worked as a Registrar at the University of North Texas, a Deputy Clerk for the office of Denton County, and a Payroll Specialist for both Walmart and Sally Beauty Company. She prided herself in her ability to type 60 words a minute and operate a 10-key (numeric keypad) by touch with a high degree of accuracy.

She was an avid collector of ceramic chili peppers and lighthouses. She also collected Americana art & decor. She enjoyed arts and crafts and made an annual excursion to the An Affair of the Heart arts, crafts and boutiques show with her good friend, Mary Pennington.

She loved animals and cared for many four-legged friends over the years (mostly canines, but also the occasional feline.) She loved her 3 Shih Tzus: Jilly, Mocha, and Presley. She also loved chocolate, especially chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and, above all else, chocolate pies.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Durnell of Valley View, Tx., son, Jeremy Durnell of Dallas, Tx., her father, Joe Keck, brother, Brian Keck, and two grandchildren, Addison & Hannah.

She is preceded in death by her mother and her husband, Jerry L. Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 5-7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.

She will be missed by all who knew her.
