Stephen James McCormick, age 76, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. Born on April 30, 1949, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Steve lived a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and deep devotion to family and friends.

Steve proudly served in the United States Navy, embodying the values of duty and honor. After his military service, he pursued a career as a drafter, applying his precision and creativity to his work. Beyond his professional life, Steve found joy in sports, cooking, and spending time with those he loved.

He was known for his generous spirit and welcoming nature. Steve went out of his way to help others and made it a point to greet and include everyone in the community he called home. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who met him.

He is survived by his daughter Heather Coffin and her husband Jeff of Krum, Texas; his granddaughters Chloe and Sophia Coffin; his son Chris McCormick and his wife Jamie of Gloversville, New York; sisters Billie Jean Dodson of Illinois and Carleen Bennet of Delaware; his first wife Kathy Williams of Denton, Texas; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his father William McCormick, mother Betty Jean McCormick, brother David McCormick, sister Diane McCormick, and brother Mike McCormick.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at New Life First Baptist Church of Krum, located at 12 Gregg Rd, Krum, TX 76249.

Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his friends at Lake Forest Village in Denton, where he was a beloved regular at Friday Bingo.
