Stephen James McLean passed away in Denton, Texas on Monday, July 3, 2023. He was born in Texarkana, Texas on January 27, 1959. Steve enjoyed bragging on his children and grandchildren, his coworkers at Denton Bolt Company, telling stories to make people laugh, caring for his dogs and cats, ham radio, amateur radio, and storm chasing.

He is preceded in death by his parents John G. and Peggy Dagnell McLean, and the love of his life and wife of 51 years, Shirley Sharber McLean.

Stephen is survived by sister Sharon McLean Stewart and brother-in-law David Stewart of Franklin, Tennessee and their children and grandchildren Kelley Stewart of Houston, Texas, Evan and Autumn Stewart of Hungry Horse, Montana, children Abigail, Emma, Jonathan, and David Lee, Katie and Dean Page of Lynchburg, Virginia, children Margaret and Victoria, Step-son and wife Phillip and Kelli Weis of Sanger, Texas, children Rebecca and Gage, Step-son and wife Matthew and Kelli Weis in Granbury, Texas children Jacob and Hunter, cousin and husband , Jo Ellen and Robert Sholl of Gallatin, Tennessee, and cousin Lou Ann Smith of Dallas, Texas.

A celebration of life will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 15, 2023.
