Lamonica
June 20, 1985 – April 7, 2018
Steven D. Lamonica, age 32, passed away 7 April 2018 and is now serving in heaven with his fellow warriors.
Mr. Lamonica is survived by his wife, Sara, and father David, mother Debbie and in-laws. He also leaves behind two brothers, Matthew and Matt, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Sara Harrison Lamonica. Steven and Sara were lifelong friends and married on 4 August 2014. After conquering life's trials and tribulations, Steven and Sara forged a temple of love and trust that will remain. Recently, they moved to Midland, Texas where they both flourished in their respective careers. Sara was instrumental in teaching Steven empathy and how to enjoy life. In return, Steven taught Sara patience and how to love deeply.
CM2 Lamonica is a veteran of the War on Terrorism serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), where he earned several medals, awards, and citations. He earned the Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NATO service award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (Three Awards), Navy and Marine Overseas Service Ribbon, and various other awards and decorations. After six years of service, the Navy honorably discharged him with full honors.
He grew up in Krum, Texas and is the youngest son of David and Debbie Lamonica. As a child, he learned a sense of humor from his father. His mother instilled in him the importance of a love for the Lord. From a young age, Steven had a love for animals, music, and his country.
Services will be held this Sunday the 22 nd at 3 P.M. at DeBerry's Funeral Home at 2125 University Drive, Denton, Texas, 76201.
