Obituary

Steven James Pollard, 76, of Frisco, Texas passed away in Frisco on Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was born in Auburn, New York on December 14, 1945 to William Randall and Donna Jane Pollard.

Steve moved to Oklahoma as a young boy and grew up in Tulsa. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1964 and went on to attend Oklahoma State University and Northeastern A&M. He served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.

He was a loving husband to his wife, Patty, of 34 years, a devoted father and stepfather of four, and the world's proudest "Bumpaw" to his six grandchildren.

Steve worked for most of his career in Finance and Corporate Audit for The Boeing Company, living in Tulsa and Edmond, Oklahoma, St. Louis and O'Fallon, Missouri, and Decatur, Alabama before retiring after 28 years with his wife to the DFW area in 2009 to be near their children and grandchildren. In his retirement, Steve served on the staff of Faith United Methodist Church as Finance Manager.

Steve had a gift for loving and serving others well, often starting his day by asking, "Who can I help today?" Whether you were family, long-time friend, had just met, or were a total stranger, he never hesitated to lend a hand or a dollar when he saw a need. He was the dad you called when you needed a handyman, the friend who would pick you up from the airport day or night. He knew when to offer advice and when to just listen. Nowhere was that love more evident than in his daily dedication and devotion to his wife. Even through the difficulties and heartache of Alzheimer's Disease, Steve's loving and caring spirit remained to the end.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents William Randall "Randy" Pollard and Donna Jane Aspell Pollard. He is survived by his adoring wife, Patty Gregory Pollard of the home, daughters, Trisha Dubey (Rick) of Dallas, Texas and Carrie Ferrara (Al) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, son, Christopher Pollard (Lindsay Jacobs) of Dallas, Texas, stepson Brandon Stewart (Melanie) of Providence Village, Texas and his grandchildren, Taylor Dubey, Sarah Dubey, Lucas Ferrara, Nicholas Ferrara, Ella Stewart and William Stewart. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Pollard (Nancy) of Spring, Texas and nieces Missy Pentecost (Del) and Kirsti Pollard.
