Susan Lynn Van Dyke, age 76, of Denton Texas, passed away peacefully the evening of July 1, 2025, with the love of her family surrounding her.

Susan was born and grew up in Benton Harbor, Michigan on October 24, 1948. She graduated from Northern Illinois University and Butler University with bachelor and master degrees in education and science. She became a celebrated science teacher in the states of Indiana and Michigan before leaving the education profession to be a full time mother to her children. Susan later returned to teaching at Cranbrook and Detroit Country Day School, before working in customer service for State Farm Insurance.

Susan loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals and spectacular pies and Christmas cookies for family and friends. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, collecting antiques, vacationing in Turks & Caicos, and spending time with family, and Otis, her beloved Bichon Frisé.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents Harold Wilber Starbuck and Marianne Freda Starbuck. She is survived and missed by her sons, Jason and Joshua Van Dyke, and by her brothers Alan and Scott Starbuck. Her memory will be forever cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
