Sylvano "Tano" Tovar, 65, of Denton passed away on June 19, 2021 in Denton. He was born in Seguin, Texas to Natividad and Timotea Tovar.

Sylvano (Tano) Tovar was born and raised in Seguin, Texas.  He then moved and rooted himself in Denton, Texas where he would start his career as a welder for Trinity Industries and retired after 25 years of service. He met and married his wife Margarita Tovar and raised their three children Frank, Guy and his beloved daughter Sonia. Tano loved spending time with his family, from Friday night dinners followed by board and card games, to Sunday afternoon football games with his brothers, sons and nephews. Tano loved football whether he was playing the sport or watching a good game on tv all while rooting for his team, the Cowboys.

More than anything Tano was a family man, a great father, a wonderful grandfather, a cherished brother, admired uncle and revered friend who will be dearly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita Tovar; daughter, Sonia Cruz and her husband Miguel of Denton; sons; Frank Saenz and wife Morriah of Sanger, Guy Saenz and wife Erika of Sanger; sisters, Linda San Miguel of McKinney, TX, Juanita Gloria of Denton, TX, Dominga Nunez of Dallas, TX, Jovah Hinojosa of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Guadalupe Tovar of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Madison Agado, Bridgette Amaya, Nico Amaya, Zuy Saenz, Syler Saenz, Savahanna Amaya, Mia Saenz, Guy "Rambo" Saenz, Samson Saenz, and Enoc Cruz. Pall Bearers: Zuy Saenz, Syler Saenz, Guy "Rambo" Saenz, Manuel Cevallos, Martin Tovar, and Cliff Gloria.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, siblings; Pedro Tovar, Natividad "Jr" Tovar, Maria Natividad (Nena) Cevallos, Pablo (Paul) Tovar and Estella Munoz.

The family will receive friends from 4-6PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas, on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, a rosary will be said at 6PM and concluding the evening at 7PM.

A Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton.
