Obituary

Dr. Teddy B. Palmore of Denton, Texas went to his eternal home on February 20, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born on August 25, 1933 in Ravenna, Texas to Joe and Annie Lou Palmore. He was raised in several places in Fannin County and graduated from Bonham High School in 1950. He met his college sweetheart, Sue Palmore, at East Texas State University, "Texas A&M Commerce". They were both very involved in the Baptist Student Ministry and married on May 29, 1954.

Ted was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and commenced duty in 1955. His assignments included Lackland Military Training in San Antonio, Texas and commander of a postal attachment in Chateauroux, France from 1961-1964. He was also assigned as the Commander of Cadets at ETSU Commerce. From there he was assigned to the Air Force Reserves to complete his 20 years and retired as Lieutenant Colonel in 1984. Ted and his family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he taught courses and received a Doctorate degree in Education in 1972 from the University of New Mexico. He started teaching at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas in 1971 and retired as a professor in Education in 2000.

Ted's life exemplified living faith in God. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was an active participant in his adult Sunday School group since 1971. Ted also served in prison ministry and led volunteer services at the Denton County Jail for 20 years. Ted loved his God, his family, and his country.

Ted is preceded in death by his wife, Addie Sue Palmore, and daughter, Carol Sue Gonzalez. He is survived by his children and spouses, Tim and Kathy Palmore, and Cherie and Tommy Moreno. He was known as "Grandad" to Joshua and K'len Gonzalez, Alicia and Bryan McLain, Brennan, Maddie and Melanie Moreno, and Zachary and Gracie Palmore. In addition, he was a great-grandfather to Danielle, Jace, and Larsyn Gonzalez, and Carter, Cohen, and Connor McLain.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Denton on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. After the service, interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Donations in Ted's honor can be made to Camp Copass of Denton Texas which supports camp ministry in reaching people of all ages with the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
