Terry Wayne Smith, 73, of Denton passed away on December 12, 2018 in Denton. He was born on February 9, 1945 to Samuel Ray and Ethel Mae (Brown) Smith in Pilot Point, Texas.

He attended school in Pilot Point, Texas and worked as a welder. He married Dorothy Odom on September 1, 1967, they were married for 32 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved fishing and collecting knives and guns. He was a hard worker and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was a loving brother, dad, uncle, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his daughters, Shannon Smith Wilson and husband Keith of Denton, Rene Thompson and husband Russell Dale of Denton and Sheila Diane Morgan of Pilot Point, son, Joe Fangman of Denton, sisters, Ina Cundiff of Collinsville, Carolyn McClain of Gunter, brother Ed Smith of Krum, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and his fur baby, Pepper .

He is preceded in death by his second wife, Barbara (Bobbie) Smith, sisters, Edith Elsie Smith, Linda Simpson, brothers Floyd Smith and Tommy Smith and his mother and father.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 6-7 PM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. A Celebration of Life will begin at 7:00 PM in the Chapel with the Rev. Randy Snow Officiating.
