Thomas Keith Larussa, known to many as Tom, passed away on October 26, 2026, in Denton, Texas due to health complications associated with a recent lymphoma diagnosis while hospitalized. He was born on November 11, 1955, in DeKalb, Illinois.
Tom earned his PhD in Counseling Education at the University of North Texas and spent over 35 years at his private counseling practice, bringing compassion and insight to all whom he served. In addition, Tom spent over 30 years at FEMA, a long and meaningful career in which he deeply impacted all that knew him. Tom was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Andy Griffith Show fan.
At the heart of Tom’s life was his family. He is survived by his cherished wife of 32 years, Donna, and his beloved children Raegan Fallon (Andrew), Haley, Micah, Abigail Weiske (Brent), Gabrielle, grandson Rowan Fallon, his sister Dianne Beth Larussa, and brother Jim Larussa. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne Larussa.
A faithful Catholic, Tom’s relationship with God was at the center of his life, something he lived each day through his service, his love for others, and his unwavering commitment to his family and community. He was a steadfast member of St. Mark Catholic Church, where he enjoyed teaching OCIA, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and active in the ACTS retreat community. Through his faith and service, Tom inspired others and lived out his calling to bring Christ’s love to the world. He reminded his family often: “What’s the plan? To all meet up in heaven.”
Tom had a God-given ability of making others feel heard, valued, and cared for, offering support without judgment and love without hesitation. His strength was rooted in his faith, his love for his family, and his deep concern for others. He was a source of stability and peace, and his example will continue to guide and comfort those whose lives he touched.
A Rosary and visitation to follow will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on October 30, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 6500 Crawford Rd., Argyle, TX 76226. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on October 31, 2026, also at St. Mark Catholic Church in Argyle, with a potluck reception to follow.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, the comfort he offered, and the love he shared will remain with us always.
“Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
