Thresiamma Chacko, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018. She was born on May 29, 1936, in Monippally, Kottayam, Kerala, India to Pothen Arackal and Annamma Pothen, the seventh of nine children.

After pre-university studies at St. Teresa's College, Kochi, she completed her Bachelor of Science at Womens College, Trivandrum, and Bachelor of Education at St. Thomas College, Palai. She started her teaching career soon after and taught at middle and high schools in India and Zambia till 1984.

She married Theruvakattil Pothen Chacko on February 11, 1963 and together they raised two sons, Philip and James. She moved to Trophy Club Texas, with her son James and family soon after her husband's demise in March 2014.

Thresiamma was a wonderful mother, a pillar of a life partner for her husband, an admirable yet very simple and down to earth woman who danced to the tunes of her own heart and of the Lord's expectations and not to that of the society in which she lived. One enduring memory for family, is her pacing the house saying prayers with prayer books and rosary in hand. For her family, she was a shining light for the way forward.

She loved to travel and meet relatives, friends and see new places. The weekend before her passing, she traveled to Red River, NM, with family so the kids could go skiing and thoroughly enjoyed it! Over the years, she exhibited a fondness for animals kept at home - cows, chickens, dogs, and cats. She had a special bond with her first dog, Bessy and during her last years grew to love Lilly the cat.

During the last four years of her life she was blessed to spend time with her beloved grandchildren, Norah, Noah, Anushka and Reuben, and their parents. Her one wish and prayer was to exit this life without troubling anyone and it appears the Lord granted her wish. She went as she lived - in her own quiet way, unobtrusive and without any fanfare. Her passing on was a testament to the life she lived.

Thresiamma is survived by her sons, Philip (Massachusetts) and James (Texas) and their spouses Lisa and Hitha, and grandchildren, Norah, Noah, Anushka and Reuben, and sisters, Cicily and Saramma in India and several extended family members.

82 വയസ്സുള്ള ത്രേസ്യാമ്മ ചാക്കോ നവംബർ 30, വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച മരണമടഞ്ഞു.

1936 മെയ് 29 ന് കോട്ടയത്ത് മോനിപ്പള്ളിയിൽ,  അറക്കൽ പോത്തന്റെയും അന്നാമ്മ പോത്തന്റെയും  ഒമ്പത് കുട്ടികളിൽ ഏഴാം കുട്ടി ആയി ജനനം.

കൊച്ചിയിലെ സെന്റ് തെരേസാസ് കോളേജിൽ  പ്രീ-യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി പഠനത്തിനു ശേഷം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തുള്ള വിമൻസ്  കോളേജിൽ ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് സയൻസും,   പാലാ സെന്റ് തോമസ് കോളേജിൽ  ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് എഡ്യൂക്കേഷൻ എന്നിവ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷം 1984 വരെ ഇന്ത്യയിലും സാംബിയയിലുമായി മധ്യ, ഹൈസ്കൂളുകളിൽ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1963 ഫെബ്രുവരി 11 ന് തെരുവകാട്ടിൽ  പോത്തൻ  ചാക്കോയെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തു രണ്ടു മക്കളുടെ (ജെയിംസ്, ഫിലിപ്പ് ) അമ്മയായി . 2014 മാർച്ചിൽ  ഭർത്താവിന്റെ മരണത്തിനു ശേഷം മകൻ ജയിംസിന്റെ കൂടെ ട്രോഫി ക്ലബ്, ടെക്സാസിലായിരുന്നു താമസം.

ഒരു സ്നേഹമുള്ള അമ്മയായും , ഭർത്താവിന്റെ ഉറച്ച ജീവിതപങ്കാളിയായും, വളരെ ലളിതവും താഴ്മയും ഉള്ള ജീവിതമാണ് ത്രേസ്യാമ്മ നയിച്ചത്‌. സ്വന്തം ഹൃദയിത്തിന്റെയും ദൈവത്തിന്‌ന്റെയും പത്രീക്ഷകൾക്കു അനുസൃതമായി ജീവിച്ചപ്പോഴും സ്വന്തം കാലത്തിനേക്കാളും മുമ്പിലായി ചിന്തിക്കാനും, കാര്യങ്ങൾ സാധിക്കാനും അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞു.

പ്രാർഥന പുസ്തകങ്ങളും, കൊന്തയും വച്ച് വളരെ കൃത്യമായി സമയം കിട്ടൂമ്പോൾ എല്ലാം പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു നടക്കുന്ന ഒരു അമ്മ കുടുംബത്തിന് ഇനി ഒരു ഓർമ മാത്രം. ബന്ധുക്കളെയും , സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെയും  സന്ദർശിച്ച് പുതിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങൾ കാണാൻ അവർക്കു നല്ല  ഇഷ്ടമായിരുന്നു. മരിക്കുന്നതിനു  മുൻപത്തെ ആഴ്ചയിൽ, അവർ  റെഡ് റിവർ, ന്യൂ മെക്സിക്കോയിൽ  കുടുംബത്തോടൊപ്പം യാത്ര ചെയ്ത് കൊച്ചുമക്കൾ  സ്കീയിങ്ങിന് ചെയ്തതു നന്നായി ആസ്വദിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞു! പശുക്കളെയും , കോഴികളെയും, നായ്ക്കളെയും, പൂച്ചകളെയെല്ലാം വളരെ ഇഷ്ടമായിരുന്നു . ബസ്സി എന്നു പേരുള്ള ആദ്യത്തെ ഡോഗും, ലില്ലി എന്ന് പേരുള്ള പുച്ചയുമായി അവസാനത്തെ നാളുകളിലും വളരെ അടുപ്പമായിരുന്നു.

അവസാന നാളുകളിൽ തന്റെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട പേരക്കുട്ടികളായ  നോറാ , നോവ , അനുഷ്ക, രൂബൻ എന്നിവരോടൊപ്പവും അവരുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളുമായി സമയം ചിലവഴിക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചു. അവരുടെ ആഗ്രഹവും പ്രാർഥനയും പോലെ തന്നെ ആരെയും  അസ്വസ്ഥരാക്കാതെ ഈ ജീവിതം അവസാനിച്ചു  പോയി. അവർ  മരിച്ച രീതി അവർ  ജീവിച്ച ജീവിതത്തിന് ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിയായിരുന്നു.
