Timothy Michael Sanchez, 47, of Denton passed away on June 16, 2021 in Denton. He was born in Altus, Oklahoma on January 21, 1974 to Gabriel and Elessa (Garcia) Sanchez.
Tim was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BA in Secondary Science Education in 2002 and earned his Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas in 2014. After the difficult decision to cross the Red River, Tim fully embraced being a Physics teacher at Denton High School in 2003. In his career, "Mr. Sanchez" won numerous awards but was proudest of the accomplishments of his students. Tim served one term as President of the Denton chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), served as an adviser for the Peer Assisted Leadership and Skills (PALS) program and founded Students Against a Violent Youth (SAAVY). Tim was a warrior for social justice, counselor for at risk youth and an avid OU football fan. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and community, generous spirit and appetite for life.
Service: The Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton will be hosting a viewing on Tuesday, June 22 from 5-7 PM. In addition, there will be two memorial services, one in Denton at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, June 23rd and another in Altus, OK with venue, date and time to be determined.
He is survived by his daughters, Reagan Souder, Kenedy Sanchez, Taylor Sanchez, Nixon Sanchez, and Carter Sanchez, his mother, Elessa Sanchez, sister, Shanna Jackson and mother of his children, Tiffany O'Neal.
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Francis Garcia, nephew Bohdi Michael Poe and father, Gabriel Sanchez.
