Barrett
October 17, 1968 – April 15, 2022
Ursula Ann (Barrett) Abbott, went to her Heavenly home on April 15, 2022 after losing her long and courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at the Argyle United Methodist Church, Argyle, Texas on April 30, 2022 at 1pm with Pastor Rick Williamson officiating.
Ursula was born in Port Hueneme California October the 17th, 1968 to Jerry and Susie Kendall. She graduated from Cache High School in 1987, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree from Cameron University, she also received a Master Degree in Education, Sports Administration from Concordia University.
She taught school for 20 years (two years at Dallas ISD and eighteen in Lake Dallas ISD) before she was forced to retired due to her health.
Ursula loved to travel and visited many places. She recently visited Hawaii, which is the place she always wanted to see. It was a special trip that was provided for by her husband Kyle and was accompanied by her daughter Shandel. She especially enjoyed her outings with her son Brandon to restaurants and movies.
Ursula loved to decorate and even starting a refinishing business, she always had an opinion about colors and style. She wanted everyone to enjoy her wonderful back yard that she decorated. She loved to cook new recipes and sharing those dishes with people she cared about.
She was proud of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them when she could. She would always attend family functions and loved being a part of her blended family. She loved desserts especially chocolate, she could never get enough.
She is survived by her husband Kyle Abbott of the home, her daughter Shandel Wesaw Battise and husband Komah , her son Brandon Barrett. Two grandchildren Madison and KJ, her mother Susie Martin, sisters Sherry Abrego and Sonya Hays and husband Mike. Step sister Janette Smith and Step brother Gary Martin. Her special Uncle Sammy and Aunt Karen Kendall. A large blended family to include Aunts, Uncles and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father Jerry Lee Kendall, and step father Freddie L. Martin, and grandparents.
The family asks that In lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Ursula's name to your local animal shelter. She had a passion for saving animals, as evident with her rescue dogs Rayban, Oakley, Gucci, and Zoey.
