She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 75 years Robert "Bill" William Cole, son Robert L.Cole, son Arlin Loyd Cole, sister Anna Janess Linehan, brother Elmer "Wayne" Linehan and wife Hildegard.
Vera was a dedicated wife to Bill for 75 years, a mother of 4 boys who ALWAYS found a way to be at all their events as they grew up. Devoted Christian & witness of God's love to everyone she encountered. Vera was Sunday school teacher, nursey worker or whatever was needed to spread god's love. Bill & Vera were faithful members of Hickory Tree Baptist Church in Balch Springs, Tx, Bolivar Baptist Church in Bolivar, Tx, First Baptist Church in Sanger, Tx, and Great Oaks Baptist in Richmond, Tx.
Vera's main job was raising, doctoring, feeding and playing referee to her 4 sons. She even helped raise and fed the neighborhood kids and grandkids. It seems her kitchen was always open, and she wanted you to be comfortable in her home. She also worked in the cafeteria at 2 different high schools and Mesquite hospital. With all this going on, Bill and Vera still found time and money to take the family on a yearly vacation camping at many of the state parks.
After retirement, Bill & Vera worked with The Texas Baptist Men's Association for many years spreading the word of God, building or working on over 200 churches. Occasionally they would bring a grand kid along to help. They traveled from South Texas to New Mexico to Michigan and all over Texas. They drove thousands of miles over the years with only one known breakdown!
Thank you all for coming to celebrate Vera's life. She was a true example of a loving mother and grandmother.
