Viola Lois Blackburn, 88, of Denton passed away peacefully on January 11, 2017 at home surrounded by family. She was born October 8, 1928 in Greenwood, Texas to Jones and Ethel Hesteande. Viola married the love of her life Billy Gene Blackburn.

She is survived by her husband Billy Gene, sons, Calvin Blackburn and wife Pat, Johnny Blackburn and wife Stacie all of Krum, Tommy Blackburn of Denton, Texas, brother, Ray Hesteande of Jacksboro, Texas,  eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jones and Ethel Durham Hesteande, daughter, Elois Worthy, one great-grandchild, brother, Lawrence Hesteande, sisters, Ruby Baker and Mildred Boyd.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Pierce, John Walker, Kenneth Weger, Kody Weger, Junior Boyd and Bruce Hesteande.

Visitation will be Thursday January 12, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. all at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Krum, Texas, Rev. Frank Ehrhorn will officiate.
