Virginia Corine Mitchell
May 4, 1933 – July 31, 2025

Virginia Corine Mitchell, born on May 4, 1933, in Sabathney, Parker County, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, July 31, 2025, at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. She was 92 years old.

Corine was the daughter of Virgil Clay "Byrd" Gilley and Iva Gladys Martin Gilley. She attended Texas Woman's College, where she met the love of her life, Bobby Mitchell. They were married on June 2, 1954, in a simple and heartfelt ceremony on her parents' front porch — the beginning of a lifelong, devoted partnership.

Together, they raised two children, Virgil and Bobette, who remained the pride and joy of their lives. Corine was known for her gentle strength, unwavering love for her family, and the grace and kindness she extended to everyone around her.

She is survived by her son, Virgil Ray Mitchell (and wife, Mary); her daughter, Bobette Jarrell (and husband, Curt); three grandchildren, Sarah Last (and husband, Jim), Justin Jarrell (and wife, Angela), and Erin Jarrell; and five great-grandchildren: Parker Last (and wife, Natalie), Jaxson Last, and Jase, Clint, and Amber Jarrell.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Mitchell; her parents, Byrd and Gladys Gilley; her sister, Clara Fae; and her brother, Joseph Gilley, along with sister-in-law Cletice Gilley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends before the service. Corine will be laid to rest beside her husband, Bobby, at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.

Corine's legacy is one of love, faith, and quiet resilience. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
