Virginia Nell Pursley, 91, of Gordonville, formerly of Denton, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at her residence.  She was born September 22, 1929 in Littlefield, Texas to William and Vivian Walker Cooper.  She married Noah Pursley, who preceded her in death in 2004.

Virginia was a Medication Aid at the Beaumont Nursing Home in Denton before retirement.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at the DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton.  Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Robert Dennis officiating.  Burial will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Sanders and companion Shan Houlette, care giver (granddaughter) Christina Wood, son Marvin and wife Peggy Fisk, Dwayne Fisk, Lynn Messer, 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary Don Messer, sister Mary Cooper and brother Wayne Cooper.
