Obituary

Virginia Viola Bishop Utter, 93, of Denton, passed away on Monday, April 02, 2012. She was born on August 5, 1918 in Ringling, OK to Frank Bishop and Elsie Bonin Bishop. She married Bill Utter in Houston, TX in 1940. Virginia attended the Houston Business School, and was a member of the St. David of Wales Episcopal Church of Denton. In her earlier years, she worked at Humble Oil and Refinery and Bill Utter Ford.

First of all, she was a Mother and homemaker who always strived to be the best Mother and Wife that she could be. She never missed a sporting event, dance recital or any type of event that her children participated in. She loved to play bridge with several bridge clubs.

She was involved with the PTA's at all of her children's schools and volunteered when needed. She worked as a den leader to her sons' cub scouts groups and to her daughter's brownie troop. She joined the SMU Mother's Club and was active all 8 years that she had children attend there. She became a KA Mom and a Tri-Delta Mom...again, volunteering whenever there was a need.

Her memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at DeBerry Funeral Directors Chapel with a visitation/reception to follow at the Club Level at Apogee Stadium, University of North Texas. Parking will be available on the west side of the stadium.
