Walter Gene Giles passed away in Denton, Texas on Monday, November 6, 2023. He was born in Bridgeport, Texas on November 15, 1937, to Homer and Lydia Giles. Walter is preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers HL Giles, Bill Giles, Bobby Giles, Douglas Giles, and Paul Giles.

Funeral services will be held at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God at 1PM, Friday, November 10, 2023, with a visitation to be held an hour prior. Walter will be laid to rest at Anneville Cemetery in Decatur, Texas.

Walter worked as a carpenter and enjoyed sitting by a fire, hunting, and Fishing. However, he enjoyed his family the most, preferably around a fire. He will forever be remembered for his teasing and being a cut up with all the kids. He was loved by all that met him, and he made each one feel as if they had known him their whole life. He was an enormous man with a very large heart, and he loved mightily.

Walter is survived by his wife of 64 years Pansy Giles and 1 son Walter Gene Giles Jr, and his wife. 4 Daughters, Cheryl Morse, Linda Webb, Rebecca Rhoudes, Gena Anders, and their husbands.13 grandchildren,19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Countless others called him Uncle, Papaw, Pepaw or his famous name Jocko.
